GPSturbo now on eeepc 900 Linux

The latest version of GPSTurbo compiles and runs on my new Asus EEE Pc 900, Linux version.

The picture shows it running on the default O/S of Xandros / Debian.

At his time it only runs on 24 bit screen mode so you will need to change the x-window settings. I don't know why the default is 16 bit in that machine anyways.

Currently you will need to download the source and build it, but if I can get a tester or two then I can try and post a binary of it.

June 16th Update

The newest version of GPSTurbo is posted at http://code.google.com/p/gpsturbo/

The Windows Binary is in the download section as a Zip file. For Linux or Macintosh you will need to download the source from the SVN repository and compile it.

Changes:
Garmin IMG Map renderer has had a few bug fixes and now displays the free TOPO maps generated by Ibycus properly.

The Garmin IMG Map renderer has also been updated to draw maps in a much nicer format. Roads are drawn as wide polylines, similar to the Google Street Maps, where as before they were just lines.

Tracks can be drawn on the map as both tracklines or polgons with a user defineable alpha ( transparency ) value.

Geocache labels can also have a user defineable alpha ( transparency ) value.
